The total starting salary package for this position is £52,332 GBP per annum (approx. $65,346 USD) per annum (including basic salary, and allowances)

About MAG:

MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international humanitarian organisation based in Manchester, UK, and working in 32 countries. We remove landmines and unexploded ordnance to release safe and productive land for communities, and work to reduce the threat of armed violence by supporting governments to safely manage weapons and ammunition. In 1997, MAG was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for our work campaigning for the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.

About the Ukraine Programme:

Since the Russian invasion of 24th February 2022, Ukraine has been subjected to heavy artillery bombardment, missile and air strikes, as well as the use of landmines and cluster munitions. The scale of the conflict and the use of high impact and indiscriminate weapons requires an urgent and extensive response. MAG is in the process of establishing an operational response programme in Ukraine.

About the role:

The role of People & Culture Manager will focus on supporting the start-up of the Ukraine programme, as well as building ongoing capacity of the local HR team and line managers, to ensure sustainable HR support for the life of the programme. The postholder will be responsible for providing strategic HR Management support to the Senior Management Team in country, promoting good management practice and strengthening HR capacity, systems, procedures and policies. The People & Culture Manager will help to ensure a strong culture aligned with MAG values, and design and deliver culture, engagement, safeguarding and wellbeing initiatives to ensure a collaborative, inclusive, productive and safe working environment for all. This role will be based from Kyiv.

About you:

You will have previous experience of designing and delivering HR services in an international NGO with a focus on building capacity. You will also need experience of developing and implementing a wide range of effective HR policies, systems, procedures and projects. You will be able to demonstrate evidence of applying a broad range of high-quality HR advice, and of dealing with complex people related issues. Additionally, you will have the ability to navigate complex and challenging environments to ensure the delivery of best practice HR, putting our employees at the centre. You will work closely with the Senior Management Team in-country and remotely with HR colleagues, and you will therefore need to effectively communicate and influence across cultures, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal, negotiation and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach to your work.
