Short-Term Communications and Investor Engagement Specialist

Chemonics seeks a short-term communications and investor engagement specialist for the anticipated USAID Pakistan Investment Promotion Activity (IPA) in Pakistan. The goal of the project is to work closely with the Government of Pakistan (GoP) and the Provincial Governments to streamline their business practices, improve operational transparency and governance, promote regulatory reforms and competition with an aim to reducing the administrative burden on businesses, strengthening the investment climate for foreign investors in Pakistan and promoting opportunities for enhanced trade and investment between U.S. and Pakistani businesses. The short-term communications and investor engagement specialist will identify, target and engage investors to secure their participation and set up one-on-one investor-investee matchmaking, oversee agenda/content, communications/marketing of the events and information/collateral to be provided to the investors and moderation of panel/round table discussions for Pakistan Investment Roadshow to be held in Dubai, UAE in October 2023. This position will be fully remote with possible travel to Dubai, UAE, as needed. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:

  • Meet with IPA Deputy Chief of Party and/or his designee to understand the specific requirements of the scope of work and design and submit work plan to achieve the activities highlighted in the scope of work.
  • Reporting to Deputy Chief of Party and/or his designee.
  • Overall, the resource is to take a lead role in planning and executing the work plan for the roadshow in close coordination with the IPA team.
  • Carry out necessary preparations and activities to identify and finalize a targeted list of investors for initiating engagements in coordination with the IPA team.
  • Submit plan/schedule to carry out engagements that will include identifying, targeting, and engaging of investors i.e., finding them, reaching out to them, inviting them to the event, setting meetings for matchmaking that would include pre-event introductions and during event one-on-one meetings.
  • Prepare and finalize communications materials needed to initiate the outreach to the investors.
  • Carry out the activity of overseeing agenda/content for the event.
  • Carry out activities related to development and finalization of communications/marketing material for the event.
  • Carry out the activity of preparation and finalization of the information/collateral to be provided to the investors such as pitch books and presentations.
  • Take a lead role in carrying out activities such as agenda setting, selection of topics, identification and participation of investors, investees, and other stakeholders etc. to hold roundtable/panel discussions during the roadshow in coordination with IPA.
  • Carry out moderation for the panel/roundtable discussion.
  • Prepare and submit report of the panel/roundtable discussion post event highlighting the outcomes, learning, and way forward actions points to be circulated among the stake holders.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in International Marketing Business/ Communications/Business Administration/Economics and any other related field.
  • Minimum 10 years or above experience in communications and investment promotion.
  • Excellent network and professional relations with international investors especially in UAE, Saudi Arabia, and USA.
  • Excellent written/ oral presentation skills.
  • Skillful in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance oriented, team-based environment with minimal supervision.
